Brett & Jade - Ufton Court - Wedding Photographer

Brett & Jade’s Wedding at Ufton Court, West Berkshire

Brett and Jade got married at the incredible Ufton Court in West Berkshire — a venue I’m lucky enough to shoot at regularly.

As a Ufton Court wedding photographer, it’s always a bonus working somewhere I know really well. When you’re familiar with a venue, you know exactly where the hidden corners are, how the light moves throughout the day, and which little secret spots make for the best photos.

A Windy Start at Ufton Court

When I arrive at Ufton Court, my usual routine is to get the establishing shots done first. Drone up. A few sweeping shots of the house and barn down that long driveway. It sets the scene beautifully for the story of the day.

Unfortunately, it was pretty windy when I arrived — so the drone stayed grounded. Sometimes you adapt and crack on.

Inside the bridal suite, Jade was getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids. It was REALLY chilled — exactly how it should be. A bit of champers (always recommended), lots of laughs, and noticeably less chaos than the average wedding morning. Calm mornings make for great energy all day.

An Outdoor Ceremony at the Barn

Brett and Jade chose to have their ceremony at the front of the barn — something I hadn’t seen before at Ufton Court, but it absolutely worked. The weather behaved itself, which always helps.

Before guests were seated, Jade and her bridesmaids did a practice walk through the barn courtyard. We tweaked timings slightly and worked out my position so I could get the best angles without being in the way. A little preparation goes a long way when it comes to natural-looking ceremony photos.

Brett arrived with his entourage — and Lincoln, the dog, who was very much the star of the show. Whenever there’s a dog at a wedding, I do lose a bit of concentration. Lincoln was no exception.

“This Is Why I Do This Job”

The ceremony itself was beautiful.

Brett’s reaction when he saw Jade walking towards him was magic. That split second — the nerves disappearing, replaced with pure emotion — that’s why I do this job. Those real, unfiltered reactions are everything.

They got hitched without a hitch (always nice), and then the celebrations properly began.

Food, Suppliers & The Ufton Court Team

Food was by Fosters Catering. Darren, the owner, is awesome — and always makes sure I’m fed with three courses.

And a shout-out has to go to the staff at Ufton Court. The coordinators there are some of the most welcoming around. Nothing is too much trouble, and they genuinely look after suppliers, which makes a huge difference to how smoothly a wedding day runs.

If you’re planning a Ufton Court wedding, you’re in very safe hands.

The Photo I’ll Never Forget

Now, onto the party.

I genuinely think I took one of my favourite photos ever at Brett and Jade’s wedding.

Let me set the scene: Brett and a few guests were messing around at the photo booth. At some point, someone picked Brett up — standard wedding behaviour. Happens all the time.

Then Brett’s nan wanders over (wearing odd shoes by the way) and whispers to me, “I want to do that.”

I knew immediately this needed to happen.

I mentioned it to Brett and his mum — neither were keen. Nan, however, was absolutely insistent. So up she went.

And a legend was born.

The photo is iconic. The energy. The determination. The pure joy. I want to be like that when I’m older.

A Proper Wedding Party

The rest of the evening was exactly what you want from a wedding at Ufton Court — dancing, shots, guests on shoulders, and mops on the dance floor.

It was one of those weddings where the energy never dipped.

A great day.

A slightly rough morning for some, I’d imagine.
